Wedding Photography Approaches

A wedding photographer can take any of the two approaches used in doing wedding photography. The photographer can take up a traditional wedding photography approach or can take up a photojournalist approach. In the traditional wedding photography approach, the couple poses according to what the photographer suggests so as to get the best shots. The photographer has more control over how the subjects present themselves before the camera and does more interaction with them while shooting. If the photographer were to take up a photojournalist approach, they would simply shoot over the entire wedding, unobtrusively showing everyone in their most natural element and best light. Lots of room for candid and unopposed images here.Now-a-days the wedding photographer focus on bringing in more of fashion photography elements into wedding photos to make the picture look more glamorous. This includes a mix of the traditional pose photos, candid photos and the kind of photography seen in fashion magazine such as Vanity Fair and so on.

Wedding Photography as a Career

Wedding photographer must be alert, active and very much a people's person to be able to mingle without being too obvious in the crowd and capture images on the important occasion. Double checking on all camera equipment and talking with clients on what they would like to see in their wedding album is required to carry off the photography session without any hassles.Wedding photographer must be experienced in taking portrait photos and he should have done wedding photography courses from photography colleges because they should able able to quickly judge the right face angles and lighting required and be able to work with the existing lighting in the wedding venue and come up with great shots. Since the wedding will take place just once, a wedding photographer must be keenly alert on all that's happening to avoid any mistakes. Many wedding photographers are seen to take assistants with them to help in tasks such as rounding up guests for family shots. This is particularly helpful when the photographer has to take large family or group shots as is often expected.

Selecting Your Wedding Photos

Do you prefer a MatWedding Photos style (where all photos are mounted under or within textured mats) or a magazine style album, which often include overlays and collages of your wedding photos. Mat albums are generally bound by leather, fabric, or even metals or plastic. Flush mount albums offer the same bindings as mat style and page thickness are about the same. The coffee table album is just that, the style of book that would be displayed on your coffee table, or found in your bookshelf. Coffee Table albums have thinner pages, so even though these books are thinner they tend to have a lot more pages to play with.A flush mount (magazine style) album will generally fit more of your wedding photos than a traditional mat album. Coffee table albums can fit even more wedding photos. More pages equals more story. A bigger album (10x10 vs. 14x14) may give you a little room for more wedding photos but generally it just means bigger images. Some packages may include 50-75 images, this would be enough to show off you favorites from your wedding day, if you are trying to tell a story this is the time to consider an upgrade in package or start adding images to your existing package. A package offering 100 -200 will allow better room to tell your story.

Wedding Photographer

Photographs that win competitions are often ones that make interesting use of light. Look out for beams of light shining through clouds, trees or windows, long shadows, and the effect of side- and backlighting. Shoot in the warm golden "magic hours" of early morning and late afternoon.

What Makes A Great Photograph

http://www.anthonysportraits.com/A great photograph is piece of art. It captures the spirit of a subject and evokes emotion. Bob Krist calls it “The Spirit of Place.” You are an artist that can use subtle tricks to appeal to your viewer’s senses. Let’s see how.A picture is a playground, with places for our eyes to wander and investigate, plus spaces for them to rest and relax. When we first see something, we are defensive. Our eyes instinctually find light, bright areas, and look for people, particularly their eyes and mouth. Do we know the people in the picture? What are they feeling, and how does this relate to us? Are they drawing attention to something? If so, do we recognize it (a building, a landmark) and what does it look like? What is this picture about? What is the main subject or objective? How big is the subject? We determine scale by comparing elements to something of known size, such as a person, animal, or car. Once we’ve checked for people, we turn our attention to more abstract features.

The Secret of Photography

http://www.anthonysportraits.com/Fortunately, taking good photographs has little to do with owning expensive equipment and knowing technical data. The secret is in seeing. Ask yourself: What do I look at, and how do I see it? A good photograph has qualities that display the skill, art, interests, and personality of the photographer.
